SENS – Device that rehabilitate patients with neurological disorders

What is neurological disorder and how can rehabilitate patients ?

A neurological disorder (stroke, neurodegeneration) is any disorder of the nervous system. It can happen anywhere, anytime, and does not take into account the social position, function, income, etc.

What are the symptoms?

Examples of symptoms include paralysis, muscle weakness, poor coordination, loss of sensation, seizures, confusion, pain and altered levels of consciousness.

What are the neurological disorder?

Most known is : Alcoholism, Alzheimer, Amnesia, Aphasia, Anosognosia, Apraxia, Ataxia, Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Brain Damage, Central Pain Syndrome, Coma, Dementia, Dysarthria, Dyslexia, Dystonia. Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, Huntington, Parkinson, Stroke, Tourette syndrome, etc.

You have a complete list here, on wikipedia website.

Is There a Cure for Neurological Issues?

The uppermost concern in the mind of a sick person is always going to be whether or not full health can ever be achieved again. Sometimes the answer to that question is “yes,” and sometimes it’s “no”; sometimes it’s a very heavily qualified “yes” with lots and lots of imponderables. (psychguides)

What skills can I recover?

Speech skills, Cognitive skills, Motor skills, Sensory skills.

Is rehabilitation always successful?

According to the National Stroke Association, 10 percent of people who have a stroke recover almost completely. What about the rest of 90%?

“Stroke is one of the leading causes of long-term adult disability, affecting approximately 795,000 people each year in the U.S. The very word “stroke” indicates that no one is ever prepared for this sudden, often catastrophic event. Stroke survivors and their families can find workable solutions to most difficult situations by approaching every problem with patience, ingenuity, perseverance and creativity. Early recovery and rehabilitation can improve functions and sometimes remarkable recoveries for someone who suffered a stroke”

Rehab team

To help you meet your brain disorder recovery goals, your rehab program will be planned by a team of professionals. This team may include some of the following:

Physiatrist, Neurologist, Rehabilitation Nurse, Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), Dietician, Social Worker, Neuropsychologist, Case Manager, Recreation Therapist.

New Technology and Device that rehabilitate patients with neurological disorders

SENS – Smart External NeuroStimulation – represents a revolutionary technology, the newest in the field of recovery and rehabilitation that acts directly upon the neural systems that are affected by neural degeneration. SENS technology implies a continuous process of neuro-stimulation and processing of responses, actions that are coordinated by algorithms based on mathematical smart models of learning and data processing.

Short history:

The research required for creating SENS covers the following fields: anatomy and brain functionality, dermatology, immunology, advanced mathematics, AI (artificial intelligence), ML (machine learning) and data modelling. During my research, I followed the understand the analytical structures of the human body, to establish the way of evolution and reorganization of the neuronal structures based on the procedures of neuro-stimulation.

The equipment I used to demonstrate the theory of SENS I purchased using my personal funds, allowing me to develop a basic device that I used to demonstrate my theory. The next step is to build a prototype and begin clinical testing that will prove the recovery and rehabilitation of the patients who suffer from affections of the central and peripheral nerve systems.

How it works:

Smart External Neuro Stimulation is based on the External Stimulation in Neural Matrix Recovery thesis that is published in the Bulletin of the Polytechnic Institute of Iasi in the Mathematics Section, Theoretical Mechanics and Physics, number 1 of 2017 (BIIP). The paper shows the modifications that occur in motor cortex when a certain type of external stimuli, according to a specific algorithm, is applied to a patient who has suffered from neuronal degeneration. The conclusions drawn during this research is that the human body is capable of sustaining a process of cellular remodeling and regeneration, thus offering functionality to the areas suffering from degeneration. We can now say that a process of neural remodeling is possible, a process through which we can reset and mold the brain’s functionality.

SENS is a device that includes all of these discoveries and it works by sending a set of stimuli to the patient, it collects, processes and models the data collected after the first set and it generates a new set of stimuli that is sent to the patient, depending on the result of the modeling. This cycle is permanently repeated, establishing a communication with the patients’ brain based on artificial intelligence

Controlled external stimulation of the epidermis generates neural topologies that lead to the regeneration of the brain matrix. The levels are coordinated by algorithms that generate epidermis stimulation. This is how the stimulus-response model generates data that is used to obtain the next set of stimuli that will act upon the patient.

A problem of medical recovery of the patients that have suffered from an ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke is that the medical rehabilitation requires the patients to go to specialized clinics or rehabilitation centers to follow specific treatments for recovering their physical and mental health.

SENS does not require this of the patient, using it is simple and does not necessarily require specialized personnel.

SENS is a very useful device for the patients suffering from neural degeneration who often cannot communicate essential information required by the rehabilitation process. SENS does not require such communication from the patient, the device knows what it has to do and it adapts to every patient, thus the device can be used to help recover even those who have deficiencies regarding understanding, communication, perceiving their environment or even motor deficits.

SENS also allows the online monitoring of patients and each individual’s progress in real time.

SENS knows how to analyze the collected data and will signal specialized medical personnel when it detects that the patient is at risk of an affliction caused by neuronal degeneration.

One of the major advantages of SENS is that it can work continuously, 24/7/365, to rehabilitate the patient without creating any discomfort.

My interest is for science, the evolution of medical investigation and patient treatment and that is the reason why I cannot exclude any concrete type of collaboration that is willing to develop and promote SENS.

We kindly ask you to answer to the call of modern medicine, to support the SENS prototype by financiar contributing to the accomplishment of this project or by publishing an article about this medical discovery (indiegogo crowd-funding campaign).
